I’m committed to making Thriving Nest accessible and usable for everyone.

Accessibility Standard

I aim to meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines across pages, posts, images, and downloadable content (e.g., printables and e‑books), within my technical and practical constraints.

What We’re Doing

  • Design & Structure: Clear headings, semantic HTML, meaningful link text, and logical focus order.
  • Keyboard Access: All interactive elements should be reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
  • Color & Contrast: We strive for sufficient contrast and avoid using color as the only means of conveying information.
  • Images & Media: Descriptive alt text for meaningful images; captions or transcripts for essential videos when available.
  • Forms: Labeled inputs, error feedback, and instructions; we avoid placeholder‑only labels.
  • Documents: Where possible, downloadable PDFs include tags/headings for improved screen reader support.
  • Performance: We monitor page weight and loading behavior to improve responsiveness and reduce motion where feasible.

Known Limitations & Ongoing Improvements

Despite our best efforts, some content might not yet be fully accessible:

  • Legacy posts may have incomplete alt text or heading order. We’re updating these as part of a rolling review.
  • Older images or recipe cards may lack full descriptive text; we’re improving metadata during routine updates.
  • Third‑party components (ad units, embedded players, widgets) may not fully meet WCAG. We advocate for accessibility with our providers and seek accessible alternatives where possible.

If you encounter an issue not listed here, please let me know.

Compatibility & Technical Specifications

Thriving Nest is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and with common assistive technologies (screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control). Some features rely on:

  • HTML5, WAI‑ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Your browser’s settings for fonts, zoom, reduced motion, and high‑contrast modes

For the best experience, keep your browser and assistive technology up to date.

Third‑Party Content

We sometimes link to or embed content from external platforms (e.g., social media, video hosts, advertising networks). We do not control their accessibility, but we welcome reports about barriers so we can offer alternatives or contact providers.

Feedback & Contact

Your feedback helps me improve, email me with details: You can describe the page URL, the problem, the assistive tech/browser you use, and any screenshots.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility emails within 5 business days and to share an initial update within 15 business days.

Formal Complaints

If you believe a barrier prevents equal access to our content or services, email us with the subject “Accessibility Complaint” and include:

  • Page URL(s) and a description of the barrier
  • Your browser/assistive tech and any relevant settings
  • The outcome you’re seeking (e.g., transcript, corrected markup)

We will investigate in good faith, prioritize critical issues, and let you know the steps we’re taking.

Assessment Approach

Our accessibility efforts include:

  • Creator self‑review and content style guides
  • Periodic checks using automated tools and manual keyboard testing
  • Reader feedback and iterative fixes during content updates

Alternative Formats

On request, we can provide key information in alternative formats where feasible (e.g., text versions for recipes or documents).
